BACKHUS DC 50

alt=

Now you can get your BACKHUS in a box. Or to put it another way: As a container. BACKHUS proudly present their newest innovation, the BACKHUS DC 50.

On July 19, 2011, BACKHUS launched their entirely new product BACKHUS DC 50, a totally self-contained, automatic and dynamic composting facility. DC stands for Dynamic Container. Dynamic because it doesn’t only aerate the input material, it also utilizes agitators to ensure complete homogenization of the input material. To allow easy transportation, the BACKHUS DC 50 has the size of a standard 20’ container. Since an additional roll-off platform is available, hauling it from site to site doesn’t require more than a standard roll-off truck. All necessary equipment is integrated and to commence the composting process all you need is a socket for electricity. And, well, compost.

“We were looking for ways to meet the ever-increasing demand for small scale and emission controlling composting systems. Sanitation of food scraps is a particular focal point. With EnviCont we have found a reliable partner and the most appropriate technology to satisfy our current and future customers. The BACKHUS DC 50 will help people, who are handling organic matter, to fulfill regulatory requirements and more importantly, to run their composting business sustainably and profitably”, says Mr. Friedrich Backhus, CEO and founder of BACKHUS. But composting plants are not the only target. The BACKHUS DC 50 is aiming at businesses that have to put emission control at the top of the agenda, such as grocery stores, cafeterias, municipalities, apartment buildings, service providers, wastewater treatment plants, etc.

The BACKHUS DC 50 and the underlying technology came into existence as a joint-venture between BACKHUS and their project partner EnviCont. Already being in the business with dynamic container systems, EnviCont eagerly joined forces with BACKHUS to benefit from the long lasting experience and accomplishments in the global compost industry that are behind the BACKHUS story of success. The BACKHUS team only had to fine-tune some minor features to make the DC 50 fit for international standards. The newly build BACKHUS DC 50 will now go through an extensive testing program of a variety of different feed stocks to validate its capabilities and to allow BACKHUS to get some first-hand experience to ensure highest quality and best value for customers and business partners.
